An introduction to Oil and Cold Wax painting

Cold wax is a versatile medium which is mixed with traditional oil paints and applied with unconventional tools, with not a paint brush in sight!

This technique offers quick and impressive results without needing expertise in drawing and painting.

Each workshop includes -

• A talk and demonstration to get you started

• Learn how to set up your space and clean up

• An introduction to the processes of painting with oil and cold wax

• Learn how to work intuitively with the various mediums and tools

• Build rich layers of texture, patterns and marks to form the foundation to your paintings

An ideal pre-requisite to the ‘Taking it Further’ workshop and is especially suited to those who prefer learning new techniques and experimenting with colour and texture to fine art painting and drawing.

No previous experience is required, just come and be surprised by what you create!

One-day workshop, Saturday May 4, 10.30-1.30

£55 plus £10 for specialist materials to tutor on the day.

To book, ring 01460 54973 or email: workshops@ilminsterarts.org.uk leaving your telephone number.
