Exploring Techniques with Acrylics

Abstracts, Semi-Abstracts and Impressionist Landscapes

This innovative and stimulating workshop is led by our enthusiastic facilitator Stephen Jenkinson. The whole session is very accessible - suitable for everyone from first-time users of acrylics to experienced practitioners in the medium.

Stephen will give short, practical demonstrations of some experimental and unusual painting techniques, designed to get participants painting straight away. You will then have ample opportunity to understand, practise, and work on these techniques: focussing on the process of putting paint on paper; applying layers of pure acrylic colour in different ways.

Along the way, working with restricted colour palettes, you’ll explore a range of colour issues;  gaining the confidence and control in these acrylic techniques to paint striking visual effects and images, producing vibrant compositions: paintings you can be proud of.

These are small group sessions designed to be enjoyable, practical and informative. There will be lots of individual tuition: encouragement, practical tips and advice; and the chance to discuss your work in a supportive and friendly atmosphere.
