Artists in the South West are being invited to enter this year's Ilminster Open Exhibition, with the chance to win cash prizes and have their work displayed in the prestigious Gallery at Ilminster Arts Centre from 12 July to 5 August.
The deadline for online receipt of entries is 6pm on Saturday, 11 June.
The aim of the exhibition is to celebrate the creative talent of established and emerging artists living and working in the South West.
Work in the following media will be considered for exhibiting - paintings, original prints, drawings, sculpture, ceramics and textiles. Photography is not included.
An invited panel of judges will choose which entries get exhibited and will aim to ensure a balanced exhibition with work from as many of the chosen art genres as possible.
A total of £800 in prize money will be awarded, including a Visitors' Choice prize, voted by visitors to the exhibition.
For the first time, there will be a category which celebrates the work of emerging artists, aged between 17 and 25. The prize will include 12 months' free membership of Somerset Art Works and exposure on their website.
Work submitted and selected will be for sale, and must not have been hung before at Ilminster Arts Centre.
Ann Palmer, exhibition organiser at Ilminster Arts Centre, said: "The South West is bursting with creativity. We look forward to being able to celebrate and showcase some of the best talent around.
"As well as the cash prizes and prestige of exhibiting in one of the region's foremost galleries, the winners will be invited to participate in our Prize Winners Exhibition in 2023."
The Ilminster Open Exhibition 2022 is supported by Somerset Art Works, a countywide agency dedicated to developing the visual arts, and sponsored by local firm Branston.
